VHF, AIS AND MONITORING
Cortex V1 is an advanced multi-station VHF radio with remote monitoring and control. It includes a Cortex® M1 huband Cortex H1 tethered handset. Connect additional Cortex handsets (sold separately) for even more freedom and control on board.
COLLISION AVOIDANCE
The Cortex system continuously monitors AIS information from other boats and calculates crossing situations, generates collision alarms and provides easy-to-understand avoidance cues. Data from its built-in heading sensor is also broadcast, so other vessels can clearly identify which direction your boat is moving.
VHF VOICE FLEXIBILITY
Both portable and power-tethered style Cortex handsets connect wirelessly via Wi-Fi® technology to the Cortex M1 hub. Keep a portable handset with you for continual VHF communications access from anywhere on your boat.
ONE-TOUCH DSC
Cortex lets you initiate DSC direct calls with other vessels by simply tapping the vessel icon on your handset. Initiate VHF calls to friends or quickly hail another vessel when every second counts.
ANCHOR WATCH
Whether you're onboard or ashore, you can know for sure that your boat is securely anchored. The smartAIS transponder accurately tracks boat movement, heading and bow position, alerting you if your anchor drags.
VHF, CLEAR AND LOUD
The Cortex VHF radio puts out up to 85 dBA of powerful, crystal-clear audio, so you won't miss critical communications.
HORN AND LOUDSPEAKER
Need to catch someone's attention? Easily sound preset horn signals or speak through your loudspeaker with any Cortex handset or the Cortex Onboard smart-device app.
HANDSETS ANYWHERE YOU NEED THEM
Multiple Cortex H1 and Cortex H1P™ handsets can be connected to each hub. Up to five can connect directly to the Cortex network, with an additional five through an existing boat network for increased range on larger vessels.

INTUITIVE CONTROL
Designed for simplicity with easy-to-understand screens and step-by-step data flows during critical situations, the Cortex hub makes advanced features easy to use.
VOICED ALERTS
Instead of ambiguous bells or tones, you'll hear a voice prompt to tell you what the alert is for. In case of a potential collision, you'll also be told the direction of the threat, so you'll quickly know where to look.
DEDICATED MAN OVERBOARD (MOB)
MOB can be manually activated by using the dedicated MOB button on the Cortex handset, Cortex Onboard smart-device app or automatically from an AIS MOB beacon — which launches a trackback mode for quick retrieval.
WET AND GLOVE CAPABLE
Wet hands? Wearing gloves? Cortex handsets are designed to be glove friendly, and they're built to operate in all types of saltwater or freshwater marine environments.

RUGGED, DURABLE DESIGN
Water-rated to IPX7 standards (resists water ingression when submerged up to 30 minutes in up to one meter of water), the Cortex hub's thermal polymer housing is heat- and corrosion-resistant — so it can be safely mounted anywhere onboard. The Cortex handsets are IPX8 water-rated, too.
LOW POWER CONSUMPTION
Engineered for minimal power consumption at just 500mA, the Cortex hub can stay on full-time to keep you informed. It will alert you even when your MFD is turned off — ideal if you need to conserve power when anchored or on a long voyage.
OUTSHINES EXTREME DAYLIGHT
The bright, optically bonded LCD screen offers brilliant daylight visibility and a wide viewing angle. A built in ambient light sensor allows automatic adjustment as conditions change.
GALVANIC ISOLATION
Galvanically isolated ports and internal components protect your Cortex hub and connected equipment from electrical shorts and circuit damage in the corrosive marine environment.
MULTICONSTELLATION GNSS
With fast 10Hz GPS updates that keep up with your vessel, your vessel position is plotted using multiple global satellite networks. Using the NMEA 2000 or NMEA 0183 networks, all onboard equipment benefits from the Cortex system's superfast GPS capability.
12- AND 24-VOLT OPERATION
Cortex will operate on 12- and 24-volt power supplies, making it easily plug-and-play compatible with most electrical systems on vessels of all sizes.

See status and history of built-in and connected sensors. Monitor bilge, security, power and other instruments. Set alarms and alarm thresholds, review data history and know when the sensor was last active.
BUILT-IN SENSORS
GPS, heading sensor, battery sensor and barometer provide valuable out-of-the-box information on and off the boat as soon as you plug in and configure your Cortex system.
NETWORKED SENSORS
Simply connect to your boat's NMEA 2000 network to monitor1 factors such as wind speed and direction, or water depth from your other onboard devices.
EXTERNAL SENSORS
Your imagination is the limit —connect with sensors to monitor bilge activity and level, shore power, security systems and more (external sensors sold separately).

GEO-FENCING
Drawing upon the strength of the Cortex Monitor smart-device app and relying on the information being broadcast from your boat, know where your boat is — and if it's where it should be1. Get an alert if it moves outside a designated area.
CONTROL DEVICES
Connect with the Cortex Monitor app to remotely control devices such as lights, air conditioning and ice makers on your boat by connecting them to your Cortex system.

Cortex can receive and broadcast network data — or translate it between NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 networks. This makes it compatible with devices on either of those networks — plus it can link via built-in Wi-Fi® connectivity. Receive alerts directly on your compatible devices from anywhere onboard.
CONNECT TO ROAMING
Connect to a boat network with cell or satellite data to roam where Cortex cellular data connectivity cannot reach.

EASY INSTALLATION
Use a single existing VHF antenna (not included) for both AIS and VHF, saving time and money on installation. You can also upgrade to a single AIS/VHF antenna for optimized AIS performance.
